Yakin (Faith), performed by Art Fazil

Hear the song on iMeem

Biar menitis asal tak putus
Kata ibu padaku
Biar sedikit asal tak pupus
Biar perlahan jangan berhenti

Kehidupan ini hanya sekejap
Semua kan kau tinggalkan
Di dalam perlumbaan mengejar
Apa yang material
Jangan tinggal solat
Selamat dunia akhirat

Mungkin
Segalanya mungkin
Apa kan terjadi pasti terjadi
Yakin
Hati terus yakin
Dengan harapan
Pada ketentuan Tuhan

Tak bisa berlari aku berjalan
Tak bisa berjalan aku merangkak
Tak bisa merangkak aku mengesot
Perlahan-lahan aku kan sampai jua

Kembara ini kurasakan jauh
Di manakah penghujungnya
Berat mata memandang
Berat lagi bahu memikul
Doamu ibu azimat hatiku

This song means a lot to me. It also serves as a reminder to myself that in whatever I do, I should put in all the effort and the dedication in order for the outcome to be desirable. In addition, never to forget our obligation as Allah’s creation, that is to serve Him, while at the same time go about living our own life, in the most righteous of ways.

If you understand malay, read the lyrics and ponder. :)

Okay this was what I was looking for all over at Ikea, Giant and Courts Tampines. Wasn’t at any of those place.

Found it only at Popular bookstore at Heartland Mall. Hah! What a waste of petrol. I could have just got it very quickly.

Anyway, I’m going to use this for doodling anything that comes to mind. Like my current iPhone application project. :)

… our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Yes, after reading much about him, and thinking about him, deep inside me, I do actually want to meet him in person.

I mean, who wouldn’t? He was described as a handsome man, with a pleasant smile, pleasant personality, friendly character, of highest respect of people of his time, as wise as a wise man could be, etc.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually meet our dear prophet (peace be upon him) in person? I’m not sure if I can even describe the feeling, because frankly, I don’t even know how ecstatic I would be.

Previously, I never thought I would feel this way. But all the recent talks (in class and amongst my peers) about our prophet has brought about a sense of love towards this wonderful man. I don’t think there is a person alive who could ever match his attributes.

And since, I don’t think my wish would come true for as long as I live, I hope one day I can go for umrah (eventually perform the hajj, insyaAllah) and actually visit his tomb at Masjid An-Nabawi. InsyaAllah. That will be the closest I would be able to get to him.

In the meantime, I’ll sing praises for him and set him as an example in living my own life, insyaAllah.

“Allahumma solli’ala sayyidina Muhammad, wa’ala alihi sayyidina Muhammad.”

See that patch of grass area? There used to be an old block on that stretch of land, which they demolished. Now the area feels more bright and spacious. Wonder what will happen next?

For those wondering where this is, it’s next to the bus stop near En-Naeem Mosque in Hougang.

Watched The Taking of Pelham 123 today. A movie with a great start, but a disappointing end. When the movie actually started, I thought this was going to be different. The first half of the movie seemed interesting. The effects were as real as it could get. It also got me thinking who the hero would be. Good job there. However, the ending was definitely weak. A typical “good guys always win” ending. The hero was just a normal citizen just caught in an unusual circumstance. The character played by John Travolta, Ryder, is definitely gay.

Personally, I think if you have nothing much to do and just want to watch something, go for it. Otherwise, find something else. :)

No, this is not a post about computational thinking per se. Rather I just want to make a note of something. I was just googling randomly, when I came across an e-newsletter by my faculty, NUS School of Computing, quoting from a report that I wrote for a module.

I took a seminar-styled module called Computational Thinking in the first semester. In order to be deemed to have completed it, students have to write a short 3000-4000 words report summarising the topics covered during the seminar. The best 3 reports were eventually chosen among the submissions.

Apparently, mine was chosen. Haha. But I wasn’t aware that it was quoted in the NUS ACM e-newsletter as well. You can read it here. :)

Great! Now I can post interesting photos I snapped anytime, anywhere! Haha…
